Your Dating Profile - What to Include, What to Leave Out

Is your online dating profile complete? We've been looking at profile pages for years, and the one biggest fault we've found with dating profiles is: They're too short! Check through this list...

* Basic demographics. Age, sex, location, status, picture. Most sites have handy check-boxes for this.

* Who and what you're looking for. Be sure to indicate whether you're looking for same-sex, opposite-sex, or open to anything. And be sure to specify whether you're here for casual hook-ups, chat friends, long-term partners, or full-commitment marriage.

* What you do for a living. Career is important in considering a partner. Even if you're retired, a student, or just don't work because you're independently wealthy, it pays to mention it. Even if you're a wage slave behind a counter, you'll have better results if you're frank about it.

* Whether you have pets or kids. That matters when considering a lifestyle. A single parent can't just spontaneously jet off to Europe for the month; a person with no attachments may not be ready to settle down in one town.
