Slinky Dating Australia operates a anti-fraud system to eliminate fraudulent users signing up as members and then swindling other unsuspecting members.
Slinky has always only been open to Australian residents, but had been swamped with web surfers trying to become members from places like Ghana, Nigeria and Russia trying to hide their locations pretending to be in Australia by using local post codes or telephone details that turned out to be false.
They would then use stolen credit cards to buy credits to contact unsuspecting members promising that they were on their way to Australia, but just needed some short term financial help.
The new sophisticated fraud system identifies potential scammers using any of the common fraudster tricks. If the score is too high they get rejected.
Successful applications for membership are listed with a VERIFIED logo next to their nicknames on Slinky.
