romantic date ideas for all budgets

(Post date: 2007-07-23)

Most people have no head for romance.

And many people think that to plan and execute a perfect romantic date, you need a lot of money, and must go to a lot of trouble.

While it is true that one can plan lavish romance on a large budget, a lot of money is not a prerequisite for romance or dating.

Here are some ideas for romance and dating, whether you have money or not.

If you do have a lot of money, but are at a loss for ideas to organize a little romance for your date, you can spoil them with some of these.

• Fly them out to another city for dinner. Yes, its been done in pretty woman, and why? Because it works. Telling your date that you are taking them to dinner, taking them to the airport instead, and after a brief flight, having dinner, and then flying them back is guaranteed to make them weak in the knees. However, just remember not to book an overnight flight without discussing it, especially with the woman. If you just don’t discuss it, she may think it’s merely an excuse to get her into bed.

• Treat her like a queen; get her all dressed up for the opera. Going to the opera is a production in itself. Tell her to dust off her ball gown, get box seats, and you guarantee that she feels like a princess. Read up on the opera though, so you will be able to sound intelligent about it.

• For people in a relationship, retreating to a small bed and breakfast in a cozy area is a good idea. Make it a nice weekend date to relax, laze and love.

• Pamper her/him, and you, at a spa. Take your date for a few hours of pampering. Get the whole treatment, splurge on manicures, pedicures, foot massages, and facials. Finish with style with a Jacuzzi, and champagne.

• Organize dinner for two on a yacht. Arrange for a yacht, a private tour and a master chef. Enjoy the quiet, the salt water, and the food.

• Rent a limo on a normal date. Even for the old dinner and a movie routine, or for club hopping, a limousine gives you the chance to relax in style without one partner being behind the wheel.

• Arrange for a hot air balloon ride for two. After a while, land in a remote place, next to a well laid table set for lunch.

If you have some money, but are not really a tycoon, you might want to

• Dress up in flowered shirts and khaki shorts, sling a camera around your neck and take a local sight seeing trip of your city.

• Visit the local Museum of Fine Arts that is bound to be located in a city close to you. This can be a good way to get to talking, and get a better understanding of each other.

• Organize a candlelit dinner for two, right in your home. Cook your special dish, get new candlestick holders, have some mood music playing and enjoy your romantic dinner.

• Organize a day cruise or a harbor cruise at the nearest lake town or seaside port. Remember to take pictures.

• Go camping. Just take off, and go backpacking, pitch a tent or rent an RV or pop up camper.

• Take salsa classes together, if your partner likes to dance.
